Andy Barnett

Managing Director

I have worked in the glazing industry for as long as I can remember and set up Advanced Glazing Systems alongside my father, John in 2004. I am extremely passionate about ensuring that my customers are getting excellent quality products and am always researching into what the best products are in a continuously progressing market. From the extensive knowledge that I have, I can provide personal advice and ideas as to what is best suited to your project, if required. I am also committed to ensuring that Advanced Glazing Systems provides excellent customer service and that from order to aftercare our customers are always happy.

Outside of work I enjoy socialising, travelling, keeping fit and taking my dog “Bailey” on walks.

John Barnett

Managing Director

Sales has always been in my blood after helping my dad sell China at Petticoat Lane Market. From that point I knew this is what I wanted to do and started in the glazing industry in the late 60’s. In 2004, my son Andy and I established Advanced Glazing Systems, and the business has gone from strength to strength. Andy has been fundamental in the success of the business and it is great to be able to leave a legacy where my family have followed me into the business.

Over the years I have really enjoyed meeting new people and helping them to transform their homes.

My interest outside of work include photography, walking and spending time with my family. A fun fact about me that my wife, Julie and I managed a rock band in the late 80’s.

Tyler Barnett

Sales Consultant

Joining the family business has been a natural progression after being born into the glazing industry and seeing my dad Andy, working throughout the years. I joined the team in 2021 and have gained extensive product knowledge allowing me to assist customers in choosing the best windows and doors for their home.
Outside of work I enjoy going to the gym, travelling and spending time with family and friends.

Peter Hanmore

Surveyor

I have worked with Andy and John for the past 35 years and joined the team when they set up AGS. I have over 40 years’ experience within the industry and started off my journey as an installer, which proved to be invaluable when transitioning to becoming a surveyor. I will visit your property to take accurate measurements and provide advice if needed prior to us ordering your products.

Outside of work I enjoy travelling, eating good food and relaxing with a glass of wine.

Julie Barnett

Office Manager

My working life started off very differently from what I am doing now. I originally qualified as a nurse in Norfolk and moved to Lincoln after being offered a role to manage five nursing homes, this is where I met my husband, John. After making the move to London I was introduced to the double-glazing industry and worked doing both accounts and CAD drawings. When we set up Advanced Glazing Systems, I took the role as office manager overseeing all aspects of the day to day running of the business.

My interests outside of work include watching Formula 1, walking, travelling and spending time with family. A fun fact about me is that John and I used to manage a rock band in the late 80’s.

Simone Johnston

Accounts & Marketing Manager

I joined the family business in 2021 after my son started school full time. Prior to this I have always worked with animals, in my previous role I provided administrative support at a Veterinary clinic which has given me invaluable experience when it comes to the day to day running of an office. My role now is extremely varied including accounts, processing and marketing.

My interests outside of work include travelling, spending time with my family and horse riding.

Gavin Harris

Installations Manager

I first started in the glazing industry as an apprentice when I was 19 years old and haven’t looked back since. After being an installer for over 20 years an opportunity arose for me to become an installations manager whilst also providing administrative support to the office. My role is to ensure that all installations run seamlessly, and customers are provided with an excellent service.

Outside of work I enjoy travelling Europe fishing, motocross, squash, paddleboarding and spending time with my family.

Ella Tompkins

Office Administrator

I joined the team in 2021 and have always worked within the construction industry. My role is very varied and includes ensuring that dates and times are met for installations, scaffolding and installers. I also take care off all the administration relating to contracts, customer invoices and the finalisation paperwork for each job. I enjoy speaking to customers and when you call in you will often hear my voice on the telephone.

When I am not at work, I enjoy spending time with my Cockapoo “Betty”, my cat “Nellie” and going on countryside walks.

Installations Team

We are extremely lucky at Advanced Glazing Systems to have such a highly skilled, reliable and experienced team of installers.

All of our team take great pride in their work and will leave your property clean and tidy ready to enjoy your newly installed windows and doors.

Their interests outside of work include fishing, cycling, visiting the theatre and gaming.

Barry Chesney

Service Engineer

I joined the team over ten years ago after previously being an installer alongside my brother. My role is to ensure that customers are provided with excellent aftercare service.

Outside of work my interests include playing golf and partaking in adventure holidays.

Bailey

Office Companion

Meet Bailey, our gorgeous part time office dog. She will always greet you with a waggly tail to brighten up your day. Baileys favourite spots to lay are on the back of somebody’s chair or sprawled across the middle of the office floor when it is hot and the air conditioning is on.
